Reflection highlights the impact of inclusive leadership on service delivery in social work, suggesting better engagement with underrepresented populations.
This reflection discusses inclusive leadership in social work, based on my experiences as a student and community services manager. It points out the inefficiency of the traditional, top-down leadership in addressing the needs of marginalised communities and promotes more participatory and equity-oriented leadership. The paper, with the help of recent studies, demonstrates how inclusive leadership can change the service delivery and organisational culture, including shared decision-making, leadership training of underrepresented populations, and systemic advocacy. Finally, the reflection ends with an appeal to social work leaders to adopt models that focus on justice, collaboration and meaningful engagement.
