Numerical analysis reveals performance measures in queueing systems with catastrophes, suggesting effective management strategies.
A mathematical model of a QIS with catastrophes is developed. In this system the (S-1, S) policy is used. Analytical formulas are obtained to calculate both the steady-state probabilities and performance measures are obtained. Results of numerical experiments are presented.
