Migration has been a most significant factor in shaping the socio economic and demographic structureof any region. Generally, migration refers to movement of people from one place to another. This studyfocuses on the migration trends and it’s cause and effect in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. Thisstudy is entirely based on secondary data, that has been collected from peer reviewed journals, articlesfrom reputed newspaper, government reports like the district census handbook 2011 and Ruraldevelopment and migration commission, Uttarakhand [2023]. It analyses the data and understands thedifferent factors causes and the consequences of migration and suggests policies that focuses onreducing migration in the district, Pauri Garhwal.
