Case report reveals misdiagnosis and effective treatment options for varicose veins in a child, highlighting clinical complexities.
Klippel–Trenaunay syndrome (KTS or KT) is a rare disease in the regular outpatient department. A clinical diagnosis of KTS is established when a patient exhibits at least two of the three hallmark features: localized cutaneous capillary malformations, venous anomalies, and hypertrophy of a limb. We report a case of a 7-year-old male child who presented to us in out patient department with the symptoms of varicose veins over the left lower limb along with pain over left knee which was provisionally suspected as a case of synovitis. Limb length discrepancy is treated through epiphysiodesis, and for varicose veins, compression stockings can be useful.
