It is the closing year of the National Fitness Plan (2021-2025) issued by the State Council. Schools are placing more emphasis on ethnic traditional sports, and the benefits of Five-Animal exercise on adolescents' health are gradually being recognized. The aim of this study was to investigate the facilitating effects of Five Animal exercise on body composition, cardiorespiratory function, physical fitness, and the psychology of adolescents. This study was conducted on a sample of 50 healthy adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years old and them into an experimental group (N = 25) and a control group (N =25). The Five Animal Training Program was conducted twice a week for 12 weeks. The control group maintained their daily activities. Body composition (weight, BMI, and body fat percentage), cardiorespiratory fitness (SBP, DBP), RHR, RC, physical fitness (VO2max, sit-ups, vertical jumps, reaction time, and balance), depression, and self-esteem were measured before and after training. All results are expressed as mean and standard deviation and were verified using SPSS 12.0 for between-group comparisons in this study, followed by an analysis of variance (ANOVA) test by repeated measurements for the measurements of the dependent variable between groups. Before and after the 12-week Five Animal training, there was a significant difference in body fat percentage (F=3.586, p=0.067), body weight (F=4.438, p=0.042), and BMI (F=4.608, p=0.039). Cardiorespiratory fitness, SBP (F=1.046, p=0.313), DBP (F=0.067, p=0.788), and RHR (F=0.604, p=0.442) were not significantly different, but RC was significantly different (F=8.640, p=0.006). There were significant differences in all fitness variables; maximal oxygen uptake (F=4.921, p=0.033), sit-ups (F=22.822, p<0.001), vertical jumps (F=18.381, p < 0.001), reaction time (F=5.405, p=0.026) and balance (F=6.439, p=0.016). There was no significant difference in depression (F=0.037, p=0.848), but there was a significant difference in self-esteem (F=4.26, p=0.047). For adolescents between the ages of 12-17, Five Animal Training has little to no effect on psychological improvement, but has a significant positive impact on body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, and physical performance. These results are an excellent physical workout presented by the Five Animal exercise. Through the results of this study, young children and adolescents can enhance their physical fitness. In addition, it is recognized as an excellent training method that applies the principle of comprehensiveness and can positively impact all areas of health-related and sport-related fitness.
