Abstract This paper critically analyzes the current state of haptics (tactile sensation), a core element supporting embodied presence in Virtual Reality (VR), from a developer's perspective. Drawing on Mel Slater's theories of "Place Illusion" and "Plausibility Illusion," we argue that haptics is not merely an aesthetic effect but the very foundation of embodiment. Through a case study of a "Stereo Haptics" system developed in September 2024, this paper documents the "sensory erosion" caused by opaque platform SDK/API changes. We propose three core recommendations: the promotion of OpenXR-compliant haptic standardization, the guarantee of SDK immutability, and the opening of low-layer audio analysis data. Furthermore, we discuss the ethical necessity of stable haptic infrastructure for future embodied AI Personas to ensure psychological safety and prevent sensory dissonance. This document serves as a manifesto for "Sensory Integrity" in the evolving VR ecosystem.
