ABSTRACT Metal phosphate‐derived compounds are exhibiting high potential as electrochemical materials in energy storage systems due to their exceptional redox properties and strong electrical conductivity. The copper pyrophosphate (Cu 2 P 2 O 7 ) material was prepared by using the hydrothermal method. The Cu 2 P 2 O 7 material exhibits an irregular hexagonal shape (CPHPs) like morphology. The CPHPs electrode electrochemical energy storage mechanism was characterized by using different electrolytes, such as alkaline and organic. The CPHPs electrode charge storage mechanisms were revealed by using the novel Trasatti method. The CPHPs electrode's specific capacitance and energy density of 1041 Fg −1 , 32.53 Whkg −1 are larger than the alkaline electrolyte's specific capacitance of 562 Fg −1 , 19.51 Whkg −1 at 2 Ag −1 due to the influence of the organic electrolyte. The CPHPs electrode behaves with diffusive‐controlled capacitance in both electrolyte solutions. This work provides a straightforward process for creating energy storage devices with CPHPs electrodes that have excellent electrochemical performance, and the electrodes that were created may be used in future energy storage‐based technologies.
