As the volume of publicly available biomedical data increases, infectious disease researchers face barriers integrating new data streams into surveillance, modeling, and related efforts. Existing resources are difficult to find due to inconsistent metadata standards and limited awareness of where relevant data are stored. To address these challenges, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) developed the NIAID Data Ecosystem Discovery Portal, a centralized and continuously evolving resource designed to streamline dataset discovery for infectious and immune-mediated disease (IID) research. The Portal is accessible at data.niaid.nih.gov.
