Key Points

  • The aim is to clarify interpretational problems in quantum mechanics without adding new assumptions.
  • Argue for methodological minimalism in foundational explanations.
  • Analyze measurement and collapse using existing mathematical structures.
  • Isolate the structural core of key phenomena.
  • Evaluate the necessity of extra postulates or metaphysical commitments.
  • Demonstrated that measurement and collapse arise from spectral structure and boundary constraints.
  • Confirmed that ontological randomness and non-physical mechanisms are unnecessary for explanations.
  • Simplicity in explanation serves as a diagnostic for structural correctness.

Abstract

This note argues that several long-standing interpretational problems in quantum mechanics persist not because they require additional postulates, entities, or metaphysical commitments, but because their structural core has not been isolated with sufficient clarity. We advocate methodological minimalism: the principle that foundational explanations should introduce no assumptions beyond those already present in the mathematical structure of the theory. We show that key phenomena—most notably measurement and collapse—can be understood as consequences of spectral structure and boundary constraints, without invoking ontological randomness, consciousness, or non-physical mechanisms. Simplicity here is not aesthetic; it is a diagnostic indicator of structural correctness. Diagram https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RLVINPhsgjcNvlLv4W3ee8avLM5wzTya/view?usp=sharing
