Abstract Background Bariatric surgeries are gaining reputation worldwide. Chronic organ diseased patients also need bariatric surgeries for sure. The morbidity and mortality outcomes in these patients after bariatric procedures is not clear yet. Methods An observational study included 34 patients with chronic organ diseases. 28 patients underwent sleeve gastrectomy. 6 patients underwent single anastomosis gastric bypass. The patients were followed up for morbidity and mortality for 6 months postoperative. Results 34 patients were included. Female to male ratio was 3:1. No complications were recorded except for one mortality case and 2 cases of postoperative ascites. Liver functions specifically improved postoperative. Cardiac symptoms improved postoperatively. Conclusion Bariatric surgeries are not contraindicated in chronic organ diseases. The morbidity rate is slightly higher in them, but the procedure is feasible if associated with good preoperative preparation and evaluation followed by postoperative close monitoring and regular follow up.
