Theoretical investigation demonstrates effective electrochemical determination of ningalines, suggesting enhanced analytical methods.
The possibility of CoO(OH)-assisted ningalin alkaloids electrochemical determination has been theoretically studied for the first time. Ningalines are seen not only as good analytes for electrochemical methods of analysis, but also as monomers and electrode modifiers. From the theoretical investigation of CoO(OH)-assisted electrooxidation by means of linear stability theory and bifurcation analysis, it is possible to confirm that CoO(OH) is not only an efficient electrode modifier for ningalines determination, but also a good chain initiator for its polymerization. The ningaline polymerization mechanism will resemble the yet described case of the polymerization of crown-ether thiophene derivatives, but with less probable realization of oscillatory and monotonic instabilities.
