This article is devoted to the review of the implementation of the federal program "Zemsky Uchitel" initiated in 2020 on the territory of the Russian Federation (the program name can be translated as "Rural Teacher"). This program provides assistance in attracting teachers to general education organizations located in rural areas and small towns. The article describes the conditions of participation in the program and requirements for applicants, it lists the regulations governing the program. In the course of studying the functioning of the program in the Irkutsk region, the author analyzed the subject composition of vacancies in the period from 2022 to 2024, as well as the analysis of the composition of applicants in 2024 with comparison with data for Russia. Based on the data obtained, conclusions were drawn about the most popular teacher vacancies, their dynamics by year, the distribution of vacancies by territorial feature, the composition of applicants by gender, level of education and age categories. Based on the results of the study, the author offers recommendations for improving the efficiency of the implementation of the program. The article is of interest to specialists in the field of education, heads of educational organizations, teachers, students and graduates of pedagogical educational organizations.
