Theoretical framework shows polarization reversals in M87's black hole, suggesting quantum-geometric mechanisms.
Recent Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations reveal time-dependent reversals in the azimuthal winding of linear polarization surrounding the supermassive black hole M87*, while the total intensity ring remains stable. We present a rigorous theoretical explanation based on Entanglement-Weighted Operator Geometry (EWOG), modeling the black hole as a macroscopic coherent condensate of gravitons. We derive a polarization transport equation in which spacetime geometry arises as an entanglement-weighted expectation value of operator-valued connections. We prove that a phase transition or coherence re-weighting within the graviton condensate generically induces a sign reversal in the polarization winding number, without altering the classical shadow size. This framework provides a quantum-geometric mechanism for the observed flips and yields falsifiable predictions for multi-frequency and time-domain EHT observations.
