Investigates tensile strength of recycled composites in construction applications, suggesting a sustainable alternative.
The study investigates the use of recycled high-density polyethylene (rHDPE) composites reinforced with bamboo fibres (BF) as a sustainable alternative for construction and packaging applications. The composites were tested for tensile strength before and after exposure to tropical weather conditions. Despite lower tensile strength, the composites show potential for non-structural applications like lightweight panels and packaging. This research contributes to the fight against plastic waste and promotes renewable resource use in material development, offering a viable pathway towards sustainable construction and manufacturing practices. The research contributes to the ongoing efforts to minimize plastic waste and promote renewable resources in material development.
