The purpose of the present work is to explore the compressive behavior of esparto fibres reinforced cement mortar and to study the effect of some critical factors, specifically the length and the volume of fibres announced in the matrix. The addition of fibres prevents the composite material from fracturing in a brittle manner and promotes a tougher overall behavior. Energy absorption during fracture of fibre-reinforced mortars is considerably greater compared to plain cement mortar. Under compression tests, fibre-reinforced mortar shows that, at a fixed fibre content, compressive strength rises in proportion to fibre length. Conversely, when the fibre length is kept constant, the compressive strength improves as the fibre dosage increases from 1% to 2%, but it declines once it reaches 3%.
