Abstract Introduction/Objectives The lack of familiarity with terminology and management related to welcoming Sexual and Gender Diversity, combined with limited knowledge of best evidence-based practices, can lead to discomfort and conflicts when caring for this population. To mitigate these risks, this project aims to develop an online-accessible app for medical school faculty and students, designed to promote literacy in sexual and gender diversity. The content is based on data obtained from a survey conducted in a university hospital. Methods This was a cross-sectional study using a survey that invited all medical residents, preceptors, and faculty members of the University Hospital of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo, aged over 18 years. Duplicate and incomplete responses were excluded. The survey assessed knowledge regarding Sexual and Gender Diversity healthcare. The layout and design were created using Canva (Sydney, Australia), and the files will be hosted on the University of São Paulo’s website incubator platform. This project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE: 83974924.2.0000.5440). Results The survey identified gaps in basic topics such as literacy in terminology, communication techniques with LGBT individuals—particularly transgender people—and knowledge of practices related to comprehensive and reproductive healthcare for this population. Accordingly, the platform was designed to provide guidance on three initial items: 1) Terminology and Definitions, 2) Communication Techniques and 3) Health Information, subdivided into reproductive health and cancer screening. Conclusion Through an accessible information model, it was possible to synthesize healthcare data for the LGBT+ population, aiming to improve the welcoming and inclusion of these individuals within the hospital environment. Financing No conflict.
