Abstract

The primer document is accompanied by a set of 9 NetLogo programs, including 3 finished programs and 6 programs that consist of intermediate stages toward a finished program. The document includes detailed line-by-line descriptions of the NetLogo programs along with a description of a foraging model and its use to solve an optimal foraging problem. The NetLogo developers assume that users will have their programs write results into a spreadsheet and use other software to analyze the result data. This seems inefficient to me, compared to incorporating automated data analysis within a NetLogo program.I could find no examples in the Models Library, and it turned out to be difficult to work out a method. NetLogo programmers who want to do automated data analysis should find this primer to be especially useful.
