Research explores fluid dynamics and stress influences in metamorphic complexes, indicating geological interaction patterns.
Discrete zoning along the strike of metamorphic belts and complexes is explained by changes in fluid hydrothermal activities. Fluid permeability of a geological medium is controlled by faults and crucially depends on the stress state in areas of dynamic influence of these faults, i. e., their permeability is proportional to tangential stress magnitudes. Experimental data suggest that maximum stress magnitudes are migrating within the limits of areas of dynamic influence of faults. The zones of stress and fluid discharging and zones of precipitation of dissolved substances are localized in accordance with migration of maximum stress magnitudes under steady tectonic regime.
