Abstract This study examined the impact of artificial intelligence on instructional practices and student learning in distance learning centres in Nigeria. This study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Multi-stage sampling procedure comprising proportionate stratified random sampling technique, purposive sampling technique and simple random sampling technique were used in drawing the 250 respondents that participated in the study. Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Teaching and Learning of Biology in Distance Learning Centres Questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. The data obtained were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions, while T-test was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study reveals that many AI technologies are currently being integrated into distance learning centers in Nigeria. The findings also revealed that there is a high impact of AI integration in instructional delivery in distance learning centers. Students in distance learning centres should utilize more AI tools that are currently being integrated to improve their engagement, understanding and learning outcome.
