Abstract The integration of artificial intelligence in information warfare operations represents a paradigmatic shift in cybersecurity challenges facing contemporary digital society. This study examines how AI-driven information warfare tactics exploit sociotechnical vulnerabilities, analyzing four major case studies: the Ukrainian conflict deepfake campaigns (2022-2024), Chinese AI-mediated election interference operations (2023-2024), the Slovak election disinformation campaign (2023), and Russian AI-enhanced influence operations targeting Western democracies (2020-2024). Through mixed-methods analysis combining quantitative assessment of 1,847 AI-driven information warfare incidents and qualitative interviews with 45 cybersecurity stakeholders, this research reveals that AI technologies amplify traditional information warfare effectiveness by 340% while creating novel sociotechnical vulnerabilities. The study contributes to critical cybersecurity theory by developing a comprehensive framework for understanding AI-mediated information threats and their societal implications, offering strategic recommendations for cybersecurity governance in the digital age.
