Media are the various means of communication that disseminate information to the public and it encompasses a wide range of platforms and formats, including; newspapers, magazines, brochures, and books, while television and radio stations transmit news, entertainment, and educational content for interactive content, for widespread distribution that include commercial messages delivered through various media channels to promote products or services. The roles of media in representing physical education programs are informing, educating, entertaining, and influencing public opinion or behavior about physical education. The focus of this review is to assess the roles of media in representation of PE to public and to find out the extent of media representation of schools’ physical education (PE) programs in Nigeria, highlights various aspects of physical education programs in influencing public perception, policy formulation, and student engagement. There is low media representation and advancement of physical education programmes initiatives in Nigeria, this might be as a result of insufficient electronic media coverage, which has been a subject of worry for many stakeholders, with many blaming it on electronic media in Nigeria, which devotes more broadcast time to politics advertisement of products and promotion of companies than physical education programmes in schools. These can be mitigated, through adequate coverage, time and platforms,’ creating awareness and advocacy for improved physical education practices in Nigeria.
