Key Points

  • To investigate how the structure of Ba2LaVO6 and Ba2GdVO6 affects their luminescent properties when doped with Eu3+.
  • Synthesis of Eu3+-doped Ba2LaVO6 and Ba2GdVO6 phosphors.
  • Characterization of luminescent properties through emission spectroscopy.
  • Comparison of structural features and emission outcomes between the two phosphors.
  • The La-based phosphor exhibits unique 5D0 → 7F4 red emission due to a flexible lattice.
  • The Gd-based phosphor shows dominant 5D0 → 7F2 emission with higher thermal stability.

Abstract

Eu 3+ -doped Ba 2 LaVO 6 and Ba 2 GdVO 6 phosphors show host-dependent red emission. The La-based host favors unusual 5 D 0 → 7 F 4 emission due to its flexible lattice, while the Gd-based host exhibits dominant 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 emission with improved thermal stability.
