Preparation of a new BTEAB/DMSO deep eutectic solvent for highly efficient starch dissolution and succinylation

MFMohamed El FarkhaniOAOmar AzougaghMAMohamed Azzouzi

Key Points

  • The aim is to create a new deep eutectic solvent that facilitates the succinylation of starch without the need for a catalyst.
  • Synthesis of BTEAB/DMSO deep eutectic solvent
  • Characterization of solvent properties
  • Assessment of starch dissolution
  • Evaluation of succinylation efficiency
  • Successfully synthesized BTEAB/DMSO deep eutectic solvent
  • Achieved catalyst-free starch succinylation
  • Demonstrated high efficiency in starch dissolution

Abstract

A new BTEAB/DMSO deep eutectic solvent is synthesized and reported for the first time. The system enables catalyst-free succinylation of starch in a single reactive solvent medium.
