Abstract Zero-waste manufacturing has emerged as a critical strategy for sustainable industrial development in India. This empirical study investigates the implementation of zero-waste strategies across selected manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh, examining their impact on waste reduction, resource efficiency, and operational costs. Data were collected from 50 manufacturing facilities over a two-year period using structured surveys, direct observations, and archival records. Statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression, and ANOVA, were employed to assess relationships between waste reduction initiatives and key performance indicators. Results indicate that comprehensive zero-waste strategies, employee training, and technological innovations significantly enhance waste diversion rates and operational efficiency. This study provides actionable insights for policymakers and industrial managers aiming to transition toward sustainable manufacturing practices.
