Comprehensive simulation explores emergence of intelligence from prebiotic chemistry to cognitive behaviors, suggesting a unified framework.
This study presents a comprehensive, end-to-end planetary simulation tracing the complete emergence of intelligence — from prebiotic chemistry to protocells, early metabolism, cellular diversification, neural networks, multicellular organization, synaptic architectures, and the first cognitive threshold events. Using a high-resolution global simulation model, the work reconstructs environmental, chemical, evolutionary, and neural pathways across 1.8 billion simulated years. The analysis includes monomer synthesis dynamics, polymerization networks, vesicle formation, replicator fidelity limits, proto-metabolism development, early neural signaling, structural plasticity, network topology evolution, and the emergence of cognition-like behaviors. This is one of the most complete synthetic reconstructions of life-to-intelligence emergence ever produced, offering a unified, multi-scale framework that integrates chemistry, biology, evolution, and early neurodynamics.
