Abstract In today’s increasingly developed Internet of Things, the development of various flexible sensors with different specifications has advanced by leaps and bounds. The number of sensor-related papers and scientific and technological achievements published every now and then is overwhelming. This review summarizes the research progress of flexible sensors in recent years. Firstly, the working mechanism of flexible sensors is briefly summarized. Secondly, the application characteristics of the flexible sensor, such as stability, selectivity, and sensitivity, are improved mainly from the aspects of material selection, microstructure design and preparation technology. Thirdly, the relatively new application fields of flexible sensors are summarized. Finally, the future development direction of flexible sensor is prospected.
