Key Points

  • This research aims to explore the preventive effects of quercetin on pulmonary fibrosis through cellular mechanisms.
  • Evaluated quercetin as a prophylactic agent
  • Examined its impact on alveolar epithelial cell priming
  • Assessed ferroptosis resistance levels in cells
  • Quercetin administration reduced the severity of pulmonary fibrosis
  • Enhanced ferroptosis resistance was observed in treated alveolar epithelial cells

Abstract

Our findings unveil QUE as a promising preventive agent against IPF, mediated through alveolar epithelial preconditioning to enhance ferroptosis resistance.
