Preparation of mesoporous nanosphere SiO 2 @TiO 2 composite materials and the photocatalytic degradation performance of different dyes

WWWenqian WuWYWeiye YangJZJiuming Zhong

Key Points

  • The aim is to prepare SiO₂@TiO₂ composites and evaluate their effectiveness in degrading various dyes.
  • Utilized sol-gel method for synthesis of spherical SiO₂@TiO₂ photocatalysts.
  • Investigated parameters including calcination and catalyst dosage.
  • Assessed degradation performance against RhB dye and other pollutants.
  • Demonstrated effective photocatalytic degradation of RhB dye.
  • Found that different calcination parameters significantly influence performance.
  • Achieved improved degradation rates with optimized dosage of SiO₂@TiO₂ composites.

Abstract

In this research, anatase-phase SiO₂@TiO₂ spherical photocatalysts were prepared via sol–gel method. Calcination parameters, catalyst dosage, and degradation performance toward RhB and various pollutants were systematically investigated.
