Research investigates effective strategies for preserving the endangered Hezhe language, suggesting new digital solutions.
Over 40% of the world’s languages face the threat of extinction, with an average of one language disappearing every two weeks. This research seeks to investigate the preservation and transmission of the endangered Hezhe language in China. It examines effective strategies for safeguarding the language through the utilization of digital technologies, including the collection of linguistic resources, the development of databases, the establishment of virtual museums, digital voice synthesis, and the creation of specialized applications. Moreover, the study underscores the importance of generating contextual applications as a critical component in the conservation of endangered languages. Based on its findings, the research proposes targeted recommendations such as strengthening policy support, forming collaborative frameworks, and enhancing communication ecosystems. This study contributes both theoretical perspectives and practical approaches for the dynamic preservation and sustainable transmission of endangered languages.
