This article demonstrates how sampled-data control achieves stability in nonlinear systems with input delay, suggesting viability for advanced control applications.
Sampled‐data control of nonlinear systems with actuator delay is studied in this article. Under the assumption that the linearization of the unforced dynamics has all the eigenvalues on the closed left‐half plane, a truncated predictor based method is proposed to design sampled‐data state and output feedback controllers, respectively, achieving asymptotic stability of the hybrid closed‐loop systems with a large input delay. The sampled‐data control schemes developed in this work rely on a local forward complete property of the hybrid nonlinear system with input delay, a truncated predictor based feedback design, and the Razumikhin theorem. As applications, we discuss sampled‐data control of the PVTOL aircraft and the spacecraft attitude control system with actuator delay, and validate the effectiveness through simulation study.
