Positive updates on financial changes and future elections in SIGLOG, highlighting community involvement.
Dear Colleagues, I have some positive updates regarding SIGLOG. As mentioned in my previous cor-respondence, the ACM SIG Governing Board formed a working group to revise the overhead formula—the fee each SIG pays to ACM—with the specific goal of helping smaller SIGs achieve financial stability. I am pleased to report that the overhead for small SIGs like ours has been reduced to 10,000 USD per year, down from the previous 25,000 USD. Furthermore, each SIG will now receive income from the ACM Digital Library. This amount is proportional to the number of publications from our associated conferences, with a guaranteed minimum of 10,000 USD per year. This income perfectly offsets the overhead fee, effectively securing our financial sustainability. On another important note, we will hold elections in a few months to replace the SIGLOG Executive Committee. This process is long overdue; I firmly believe that regular turnover is essential to ensure the committee remains responsive to the needs and preferences of our community. I strongly encourage you all to participate in the upcoming vote. Best regards,
