Uterine inflammatory myofibroblastic tumours (IMTs) are uncommon neoplasms of uncertain malignant potential, with fewer than eighty cases described in the literature. 1 In contrast, leiomyomata are common, benign lesions. It is thus important to distinguish the two lesions for accurate prognostication. In this paper, we discuss the diagnosis of an IMT resembling a leiomyoma in a 34-year-old female patient presenting with heavy menstrual bleeding.
