Introduction: Therapeutic drug intervals are often based on historical clinical data associated with poor method traceability. We questioned whether data mining could be used as a first pass to evaluate the appropriateness of therapeutic drug intervals, using the anti-arrhythmic agent, flecainide, as a candidate. Flecainide requires therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) because of its narrow therapeutic window and potential for severe toxicity.
