This dissertation discusses integrating sustainability in capital markets, highlighting its implications for economic transitions.
Climate change and biodiversity loss are key challenges to society. Addressing those challenges and reducing their negative societal impacts requires a structural transition of the economy. Capital markets could take a key role by redirecting capital flows toward less carbon-intensive and more sustainable economic activities and by appropriately pricing sustainability-related risks. This dissertation discusses the integration of sustainability in capital markets in five articles from different perspectives.
