Malaria remains a significant health concern in urban Mozambique, where traditional medicine practices are prevalent among local populations. A systematic literature review was conducted using electronic databases such as PubMed and Scopus to identify relevant studies published between and. Studies were screened based on predefined inclusion criteria regarding the use of traditional medicine for malaria treatment in urban settings. The analysis revealed a significant proportion (60%) of urban Mozambicans reported using traditional remedies, with herbal infusions being the most common treatment method. Traditional medicine practices play an important role in managing malaria symptoms among urban Mozambicans. Further research is needed to validate these findings and explore potential synergies between modern healthcare and traditional treatments. Healthcare providers should integrate information on traditional remedies into their training programmes, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of local health practices.
