Urban youth in Nigeria face nutritional challenges due to limited access to diverse food sources rich in vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin A. Despite national programmes promoting fortified foods, uptake remains suboptimal. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative in-depth interviews with quantitative surveys will be employed to explore perceptions and behaviors related to vitamin fortification among Nigerian urban youth over a period of five years. This study underscores the need for targeted interventions that address affordability and nutritional education among urban youth in Nigeria. Public health policies should prioritise educational campaigns targeting low-income neighborhoods, alongside initiatives to reduce prices of fortified foods. Collaboration with community leaders is crucial for effective implementation.
