Abstract

Abstract: The PARS (Playwork Action Research System) model of playwork practice is used by adults working in a wide range of supervised provision for children around theworld. This article describes how PARS practitioners use the PARS Method of Environmental Modification (PEM) to introduce diversity and novelty into otherwise potentially static and boring environments. The article includes international examples of how Playwork Mirror Theory, the theoretical underpinning for PEMs, is used to inform PARS playwork practice. Opportunities for future evaluation and research are discussed.
