Corporate compliance under environmental law in Nigeria is a critical area of focus due to growing concerns over pollution and ecological degradation. An action research approach was adopted, involving semi-structured interviews with stakeholders including environmental regulators, private sector entities, and civil society organizations. Data were analysed using thematic content analysis to identify themes of corporate non-compliance and regulatory efforts. A notable finding is the high proportion (60%) of companies that failed to meet NEPA reporting requirements, indicating significant gaps in compliance enforcement mechanisms. Enforcement strategies under NEPA need improvement to address persistent issues such as inadequate penalties for non-compliance and insufficient monitoring by environmental agencies. Enhancements should include stricter enforcement measures, improved regulatory oversight, and increased public awareness campaigns to promote corporate accountability in environmental compliance.
