Action research examines regional disparities in immigration law enforcement in Rwanda, suggesting tailored legal reforms.
This study examines legal practices in Rwandan regions to understand regional variations in law application. Action research methodology was employed, involving interviews, observations, and document reviews from legal practitioners and community members in selected regions. A significant theme emerged regarding the varying degrees of enforcement of Rwandan immigration law between urban and rural areas, with a notable difference noted in the proportion (60%) of cases where local authorities enforced stricter regulations in urban centers compared to rural settings (45%). The findings suggest that regional disparities affect how immigration laws are applied, necessitating tailored legal reforms. Recommendations include developing region-specific guidelines and increasing community engagement for more effective enforcement of Rwandan immigration law.
