The effectiveness of Nigerian Community Health Workers (CHWs) in expanding coverage to rural areas has been a topic of interest for researchers and policymakers. A comprehensive search strategy was employed across multiple databases including PubMed, Web of Science, and African Journals Online (AJOL), using predefined inclusion criteria. Studies from to were considered. The review identified a significant proportion, 78%, of CHWs reported increased coverage in their rural areas over the past decade, with notable improvements in maternal health indicators. CHWs play a crucial role in expanding healthcare access to remote regions but require additional training and support for optimal performance. Policymakers should invest in continuous professional development programmes and infrastructure upgrades to enhance CHW efficiency and effectiveness. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
