This method estimates geophysical features using gravity and magnetism, indicating new approaches to data analysis and model selection.
A new method of banded estimation to interpret gravitational and magnetic fields has been proposed. The method takes into account a random additive component and influence of interfering unknown parameters which reflect a priori uncertainty of our knowledge of geophysical features of real media. A choice of the most informative observation points, practical equivalence and efficiency of solutions are discussed. On the basis of the statistical object modeling we have worked out a special program “Interact” to obtain graphic outputs in the interactive mode.
