Systematic literature review shows varying effectiveness of TB control policies in Lagos, suggesting a need for better coordination.
Public health policies play a crucial role in controlling tuberculosis (TB) in Lagos, Nigeria, where TB remains a significant public health issue. The study employed a comprehensive search strategy using multiple databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar) covering the period from to . A total of 58 studies were included after rigorous screening and evaluation based on predefined eligibility criteria. Findings suggest that while some policies have shown effectiveness in reducing TB incidence, there is a notable lack of coordinated implementation across different sectors, resulting in inconsistent outcomes. Public health policies can significantly impact TB control efforts; however, their success hinges on effective and consistent implementation across all relevant sectors. To enhance the efficacy of public health policies, it is recommended that Lagos implement a more integrated approach involving collaboration between healthcare providers, policymakers, and community leaders to ensure comprehensive coverage and adherence. Treatment effect was estimated with logit(pᵢ)=β₀+β^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
