A qualitative assessment of existing literature and policy documents related to water conflict mitigation in the region. Recent studies have highlighted a significant increase in disputes over river waters, particularly affecting agricultural communities in Cape Verde. Current strategies focus on improving water management practices and enhancing dialogue between stakeholders but require further institutional support. Enhanced cooperation frameworks should be developed to address the root causes of conflicts and promote sustainable resource use.
