This study empirically investigates the adoption of local technology and materials in the construction industry towards sustainable green building in the Southwest Nigeria. Analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics particularly the mean ranking and Kruskal-Wallis H for comparison of responses. The findings identify important factors for effective promotion of local building technology. Professional view on the economic, technological and social benefits shows that utilizing local building technology enhances creation of job opportunities, boost domestic economy, and scaling of indigenous conservation practices. The Kruskal-Wallis H estimates on comparison of professional’s responses on benefits derived show lower cost as the only significant variable and a key benefit to use of local technology and material in Nigeria.
