An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land at Kings Pond Cottage (C10025), near Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire by Infra for Fusion on behalf of HS2. A total of 19 trenches were excavated. The evaluation comprised 19 trenches produced 2 pits and 8 linear features interpreted as field boundaries and drainage ditches. The form of the 2 pits suggests they are not post-pits and the consistent fills across all the features and almost total absence of finds suggests that they are naturally filled and potentially removed from a settlement. A single sherd of late 13th to early 15th century pottery from the upper fill of linear 400104 in trench 1 was the only dating evidence recovered from the excavated features.
