Abstract: Torsades de pointes (TDP) is a result of prolonged QTc interval, which may be due to congenital and acquired factors. Levetiracetam is a commonly prescribed anti-epileptic drug and has a highly favorable safety profile. Here, we report the unique occurrence of TDPs leading to multiple electric cardioversions in a 59-year-old female following the administration of levetiracetam. As far as we know, there is only very few previous documented case of TDPs occurring after levetiracetam and none in the Indian subcontinent.
Modi et al. (Thu,) reported a other. Levetiracetam can induce torsades de pointes (TDP), evidenced by a 59-year-old female requiring multiple cardioversions after its administration.
