Stand-up Test is the Most Influential Risk Test for the Locomotive Syndrome in the Elderly - The Bunkyo Health Study
Key Points
To evaluate the influence of various tests on determining the stage of locomotive syndrome in the elderly.
Conducted three tests: stand-up test, two-step test, and Locomo 25.
Analyzed the correlation between test performance and locomotive syndrome stages.
Focused on elderly participants from the Bunkyo Health Study.
Stand-up test showed the highest influence on risk assessment for locomotive syndrome.
The two-step test and Locomo 25 contributed less significantly to determining locomotion stages.
Overall results highlighted the importance of the stand-up test in evaluating locomotive syndrome.
Abstract
Locomotive syndrome (Locomo) is determined by three tests (stand-up test, two-step test, and Locomo 25). In this study, we investigated how much influence each test has on determining the stage of Locomo.
