This research defines nilpotent hypergroups and shows their basic properties, extending results from nilpotent groups.
By generalizing the notion of nilpotent groups, we define nilpotent hypergroups. Our definition allows us to establish a number of basic results on finite nilpotent hypergroups which generalize corresponding facts on finite nilpotent groups.
