After the Kumamoto Earthquake, the affected municipalities conducted a series of intention surveys to estimate the number of disaster public housing units required for displaced residents. In order to examine the implementation of these surveys, data were collected from 12 municipalities within Kumamoto Prefecture. The target groups, survey methods, and timing of the intention surveys were presented in a timeline, and the survey questions were summarized in chronological order. This analysis clarified the fundamental procedures and structural characteristics of the intention surveys.
