An archaeological watching brief revealed early Roman features and prehistoric artifacts in Surrey, indicating historical settlement activity.
Groundworks for a new drainage trench and SUDS pond were monitored. Although much of the site showed modern truncation, pits, post holes and a hollow interpreted as a quarry, all of early Roman date were recovered. The quarry also contained a substantial quantity of Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age pottery and broadly prehistoric struck flints.
